Bonus
Full Tilt Poker offers an amazing first deposit poker bonus of 100% up to $600. The bonus is released to your account in $20 increments (or 10%, whichever is lower) at rate of $0.06 per Full Tilt Point earned.
Here are the details on the Full Tilt Poker bonus:
For each dollar raked from a pot, every poker player who was dealt cards for that hand will earn one point. You can earn partial points if less than one dollar is raked, and you can earn up to three points per hand.
Each point is worth $.06, so you can earn up to $18 per hundred hands.
For every dollar paid in tournament fees, you will receive 7 Full Tilt Points. There is no cap on the number of points you can receive.
The online internet poker room bonus amount will be automatically credited to your Bonus Account where it will be held and released to your cash account in steps of 10% of your initial deposit, or $20, whichever you earn first. So if you do a one-time online internet poker deposit of $100, each $10 (10%) earned will be instantly released into your account. Deposit the full $600 and your account will get credited for each $20 of bonus earned. At three points per hand, each $20 increment can be earned in fewer than two hours of play at only one table.
You can see your cash total and bonus cash amounts in the Cashier window. You will continue to collect cash until you have received 100% of your bonus money. You have 120 days to earn your online internet poker room deposit bonus.
Software
We really like the Full Tilt software. The first thing you see is the player-chosen avatars around the tables. You can change the backdrops, and choose from several different sets of card backs, and even use a four color deck.
You can resize the tables, so you see everything that's happening on two, three, four, etc. tables at one time.
The software works well with PokerEdge, which probably has kept us at the site for so long. There is an instant hand history screen, so at the click of a button we can review who had/did what during the past hand.
The betting buttons include a "bet pot" button, and they work well with the numberPad, so we can manually enter any amounts we want. The player notes include colored buttons, so you can "mark the fish" or any other type of player. As soon as they sit down at the table with you again, you'll see that colored button and know instantly what type of player you have them pegged as being.
There is a downloadable Mac-friendly version of the poker room. And, they are always updating the software, so small improvements are pretty constant.
Features include:
- Full Tilt Points - Collect the Full Tilt points and purchase excellent gifts, freeroll poker tournament entries and to keep track of your bonus account.
- See Last Hand - Check you hand history with this feature (up to the last 50 hands).
- Notes - Simple to use and quickly accessed. Write a note regarding a particular player and his method of operation. This notes feature will be very useful for most players.
- Stats - In an easy to read percentage format, the stats at Full Tilt Poker are detailed and quickly available.
- Table View - Choose between Racetrack or Classic.
FullTilt Poker: How easy is it to make money here?
When the site was newer and smaller, it had a reputation for being full of tight players.
As Full Tilt's player base grows, it appears the competition is getting somewhat easier. Due to their extensive marketing campaigns especially in 2006 Full Tilt poker managed to attract lots of players from some of the other online internet poker rooms.
Especially, the other marketing heavy poker rooms such as Party Poker "suffered" from this migration. Without a question many of the players that came over from Party Poker in 2006 were fish which made Full Tilt Poker soften up a bit.
However, overall the Full Tilt poker players are still fairly good poker players because there are still quite a few that did not come over from Party Poker. There aren't as many "lunatic" type poker players as one would see at other online internet poker sites. Never the less, there are some tight-passive players and this can be a nice thing for sharks.
Player Traffic
Full Tilt is becoming a very popular online internet poker site. Apparently, the chance of playing No Limit Holdem with Phil Ivey or Pot Limit Omaha with Andy Bloch is a huge selling point for this poker room.
During peak times there can be up to 10000 players found at the Full Tilt Poker real money tables. Approximately 75% of the traffic is due to tournament play with the remainder playing mostly Limit or No-Limit Texas Hold'em cash games.
Playability
Full Tilt Poker's online internet poker software and interface is in our opinion one of the most attractive interfaces out there with great backgrounds, colors, and fantastic cartoon-like avatars that make you feel like your playing cards with the cast of Roger Rabbit. And each avatar-character has four expressions - normal, angry, happy, and confused which simply is one of these little extras which makes Full Tilt Poker a bit more entertaining and enjoyable.
In addition, Full Tilt Poker has added hand histories - the Last Hand button will show up to the previous 50 hands.
Furthermore, Full Tilt Poker keeps simple player stats for the current session, so you can see your percentage of flops, etc. It also has a friend finder, so you can hunt down that fish or pro for a rematch.
Betting is pretty standard, there's a text box to type in the amount, and quick buttons to bet the pot or the max amount. There is no slider, but we rarely use those anyway. You can hover over the pot and the bets to see the actual dollar amounts. We prefer immediately knowing the exact amounts, but counting the chips on the table is pretty easy to do quickly without having to hover over the stacks.
Customer service
Full Tilt Poker offers 24 hour support via e-mail only. The response time is fast, usually within half an hour, and the quality of responses is very high.
